Q. What is the purpose of Soroptimist?
A. Soroptimist members participate in community projects focusing on issues such as domestic violence, poverty, lack of adequate child care, sexual harassment and other challenges unique to today’s women.

Q. How can I join a Soroptimist Club?

Q. How much are the membership dues?
A. S. I. Greater Davis Club dues are $100 per year.

Q. What is the time commitment?
A. The time commitment may vary between 3-5 hours per month depending on the different activities you participate in.

Q. Can men join a Soroptimist Club?
A. Yes, men can become members.

Q. Do you offer orientation sessions about what Soroptimist is about?
A. Yes, our club offers orientation sessions for new members.

Q. Do you need a sponsor to join a Soroptimist club?
A. No sponsor is needed to join the club, just contact a local club & let them know you’d like to attend a meeting.

Q. What type of organizations does Soroptimist support?
A. Some of the organizations S.I Greater Davis has supported include: American Red Cross Of Yolo County, Communicare, CASA, Davis Community Meals, Davis Senior Center, Families First, MDIC (Multi Disciplinary Interview Center), Sutter Davis Hospital Foundation, Yolo County Crisis Center, Yolo Hospice, and many others.

Q. Are there attendance requirements?
A. There are no attendance requirements; however, we encourage our members to attend our business & program meetings and to participate in some of the club projects.
